When the sun comes out and the warm Cornish breeze starts to blow, the first thing we want to do is pack up a picnic. We love the idea of the perfect picnic spot and the tastiest of snacks to enjoy with the family. We are lucky to live on the doorstep of some of the countries most beautiful beaches and woodlands but we sometimes like to venture out of the Cornish county to find the perfect picnic spot. We thought we would share these alfresco gems with our fruity fans.
The orchard or woodland have many spots for picnicking, and the tea-rooms are nearby too. You can top off your day with tasty treats such as home-made cakes and ice-creams and let the children enjoy the play area. After your picnic, why not finish with an exhilarating walk to see the 30m Whitelady waterfall and the bubbling Devil’s Cauldron.
Lanhydrock is our local country estate covering over 1,000 acres of woodland and river paths. With plenty to discover along its parkland paths or around Lanhydrock house, it really is the perfect picnic spot. After a spot of lunch and a Get Fruity bar, you will have the energy to jump on your bike and explore one of the cycle trails. A great spot for kids of all sizes.
A colourful wonderland of tall grasses and flowers in full bloom. Make sure you visit Dyrham park between May and July to see the park at its best. The perfect spot for a picnic without any strenuous walking, as it is only a short stroll from the car park and it’s also dog friendly, so you can bring the whole family. A fantastic spot for the perfect packed lunch, a stunning country view with some friendly deer.
Don’t forget to stock up on some delicious picnic snacks before you head off on a day of adventure. We love Burts lentil chips, vita coco water and of course some Get Fruity bars Crisps Our bars are available from Waitrose, Ocado, Tesco and on our website.
